What We Believe

THE BIBLE

We believe the Bible is the divinely inspired Word of God, and is therefore authoritative for the church, each person, and every age. It is inerrant in the original manuscripts, and has been preserved by God through the ages.

GOD

We believe God exists eternally in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. The three are one God. We believe God created the universe out of nothing by His power and Word. God is all-knowing, all-powerful, and ever-present.

JESUS CHRIST

We believe Jesus Christ is both God and man. As the virgin-born Son of God, He was sent by God the Father into the world to save sinners. He lived a sinless life, and performed many miraculous signs by the authority and power of God. He was crucified for our sins, died, was buried, and was raised from the dead. He was given all authority under heaven and on earth by God, then ascended into heaven where He now sits at the right-hand of God the Father, until He returns again both visibly and bodily, to reign as Lord.

HOLY SPIRIT

We believe the Holy Spirit is God, having all of the divine characteristics of God. He baptizes, indwells, and seals all believers at the moment of salvation, filling them daily as they willingly surrender to Him.

SALVATION

We believe Jesus is the only Way of salvation, and that He made salvation possible by His suffering and death on the cross. To receive salvation one must repent of sin, and call upon Jesus for forgiveness and salvation. Although a believer may lose the joy of salvation because of sin and bring the loving discipline of God upon himself, he is eternally secure due to the completed work of Jesus Christ on the cross. All who have received Christ will either be caught up to be with the Lord at the Rapture, or at death depart from this earthly body to be in the presence of the Lord.

THE CHURCH

We believe a New Testament church is a local body of believers who have agreed to worship Jesus Christ together, grow in faith and knowledge of God, serve the Lord and each other, and share the gospel with those who are unsaved. The church is to observe two ordinances: Baptism and The Lord's Supper, whereby the believer expresses his faith and obedience to Christ, and anticipation of His return.
